There's something in the air today that's making me feel odd. And I mean it literally, the air that is. It's like an end-of-year smell...I don't know bout you guys but I've always associated smells with my memories. An example would be how the smell of sotong balls and chlorine (the swimming pool smell) can conjure up the warmest and fuzziest memories of swimmingly fun days at the pool when we were just puny little tots. Well well, the year is indeed ending in another sixty-one days. Oh gosh!Anyways, the eoy monsoon season's on it's way I guess? I've yet to witness or get caught in the ginormous thunderstorms (crossing my fingers and hoping that I don't get the chance) as I've been safely cooped up within the walls of ttsh. The ferocity of the ominous dark clouds is in a way intimidatingly welcoming. Hahaha! The classic somnolent rainy day. A school kid's favourite day to stay home, tucked in bed all snug and warm for another few good hours of snooze. I'm enjoying the aftermath of the cloudbursts though. The rich earthly smells, the chilling breeze, the sleepy feeling, the spine tingling "boomz" of thunder and the shocking lightning...I could go on and on. Ahha I just hope that the dudes having a bbq downstairs have some wet weather alternatives planned out. The sky doesn't look like it's gonna hold for much longer! Pity though. The aroma of their food whets appetites(:

-heads out for dinner-

A nice warm tummy makes a happy heart! Dinner was just yum! Had a really long wait though and that got me really hungry. Coupled with the rain and cold winds, you can imagine how famished and miserable one can get. Could probably be the reason why it felt exceptionally delicious tonight. Ended with a sweet note - iced short toffee nut latte (: I totally dig having this drink. It smells divine, and consuming it just leaves one in an indubitable blissful state of mind, it's le top du top! I've been waiting long and hard for it to be out on the market. Yours truly didn't get to drink to her heart's content last year since Japan doesn't sell this. Managed to catch the first cuppa with the very same person as I did last year and we both wonder if we can keep up with this tradition for long. Ahwells..I'm a tad shocked at the copious amount of caffeine I've had this week. Might very well have OD-ed. But I just can't resist it. I'm addicted :/ Two months is all I've got.

The bed beckons yet again. To think that I just had a cup of coffee an hour ago. I've got so many interesting stories to share! Guess I'll have to leave it till the next time. Happy Halloweeen dear all! And I sure hope that you didn't get tricked/ received tweaked treats (: Remember your brollies in the following weeks ahead lest you get caught in the rain and fall ill. Not a very pleasant manner to end the year eh. Toodles!

you're the toffee-nut to my latte :D

Lord of The Rings. Is it any wonder why I've been camped in front of both the small and big screens tonight? Everything's hunky-dory lately. Had a really swell week! What with work starting, a plethora of after work activities and profile shoots (: But it wasn't without its glitches either, tiny boo boos not worth mentioning.

Gory images encountered during work left me aghast for a minute or so, maybe less. Haha (: I entertained more emotions of delight and exhilaration, got thrilled at the thought of bloody operations, and delirious from imaginations of the crazy frenzy of meds school. All these have yet to come to light but I shudder in sheer glee at their prospect. Sometimes I think I have a warped brooding mind. I mean, who (with the exception of me, doh) in their right state of mind would get a kick out of gory bloody things? I've yet to meet a like-minded soul sadly. Do inform me if you find another someone like that!

-takes a break to watch LOTR-

The most exciting part of the movie! Gahhhh (: I love it when Legolas and Gimli bicker even in the most dire and grim moments in the midst of war, how they start counting the number of the gross orcs they've killed each, how Legolas skids down the steps and kills a whole bunch of orcs on the way, how cool Aragorn is... My love for this show is like, uhm, a stampede of looney orcs (:

Impending rain is luring all these nescient moths towards the light overhead. Irks me to no end! The wafts of earthly goodness and the light breeze is pleasurable though (: A stark contrast to the blazing heat this noon! Traipsed under the scorching sun to get to tuition class. The heat zapped me dry of energy, ughh. The very kind mother of my kid baked me a box of cookies. Imba! It was so yummy that I couldn't stop popping em into my mouth. Heh, feel like having another few but it's too late for food binges!

Laconic replies suggests lack of interest, yes? Some oafs just don't get it. They probably need blatant in-their-face replies before realisation can dawn upon them. These are the type of replies I detest despite the fact that I'm guilty of such response at times. The lack of emotions or sometimes totally devoid of any at all, drives me up the wall! (only when I'm on the receiving end)

It's hard to perceive the real intended meaning when replies are curt and abrupt. Most of the time you understand it's a plea for "stop disturbing me" but sometimes these deadpan replies are just someone's style of replying to everybody! How then do you decipher and separate these baffling habits? Reply with equally deadpan messages? A battle of emotionless messages ensues, leaving both parties (might be more applicable to just me) tired out and blank. At the end of it all, it only makes you wonder why you even bother reciprocating in the first place. Inject fake enthusiasm with truckloads of hyped up punctuations? Been there, done that. It's so fake that it makes me cringe. Haha! Lesson learnt? Do not reply unless this friend matters. You'll save yourself from being embroiled in senseless chatter as well as splitting headaches.

Okay, I'm done for this day. I digressed too much. So much that I forgot what I wanted to type initially. Ahwells, guess it can't matter much since I can't remember. Sleep is calling (: Rest well and have a fantabulous week ahead!

love jia.

I long for a cup of toffee nut latte.

Another two weeks to go. Super three in one coffee mix's gotta be the next best substitute I guess. Though I must say that the hazelnut latte is just a tad under par next to toffee nut, just a tiny miniscule bit, but I'd rather save the moolah for the yummy christmas treat!

Had a hell of a time in the land of dimsums (or the land of flying aircon water, as nette would aptly call it). Brought back one too many good memories. Had had a gastronomic adventure with my fellow companions and probably had enough nosh to last us a lifetime. That said, I still loved every single morsel of what we consumed. Pure bliss. My only regret at having to leave Hong Kong? Definitely the mango slushie! Was fortunate enough to locate one stall somewhere near our hotel within an hour of reaching the country. Imagine our faces of excitement and dances for joy. Absolute joy for all mango lovers out there! I've a good mind to sell that heavenly drink in my own cafe in time to come. Brilliant idea don't you think? Well, I do.

Had some dramatic encounters in the days since our return as well. I thank my lucky stars to still be alive and kicking, or rather, sitting in a slothful manner on the comfy sofa and typing out all these idle jabber.

Caught a few gripping movies. Okay, it's just that two movies. But they were swell! (500) Days of Summer and Julie & Julia. The latter was a much much better one though. Meryl Streep's acting was splendid! It's my favourite foodie film by far. One of those I wouldn't mind watching again(: There's more supposedly spellbinding films to come and I'm looking forward to all of it! All geared up for the new job too. Suspense, anticipation and expectations never fail to make me quiver. I like new things. I like changes. I think I'll like whatever lies ahead(: Gut feelings never lie.

Life's so darn good! Hope you're feeling the way I do(: Bask in a pleasurable week ahead all you tired out poor souls. And hang in there for school and whatever shit-nots that are coming your way! If everything's so smooth sailing, it takes the fun out of everything. Nuff said!

you're the dimple to my smile;

Babe has kindly helped me swap into this less kiddish layout. But macky is screwed and I can't seem to blog from there. Gross shit. I've lost all inspiration to type long chunks. All hail to pounding pulsating headaches. I'm out!

Ciao!

The traffic this morning was pure madness. My first time experiencing a massive traffic jam behind the wheels. To think that mother and I left the house at seven thirty sharp, only to find ourselves stuck in this muck, and arrive at our destination a good hour and a half later. Boy am I glad that we made it there safely. Considering the fact that we witnessed three accidents happening directly beside/ in front of us. Total accident count from when we embarked on out torturous journey to the final destination was, hmmm, seven? I can't remember the exact number anymore but I do remember being appalled and pissed at the ungracious behaviour of this morning's drivers. Was seething with sheer annoyance when I saw cars shoving their way through to lanes they weren't supposed to cut into for the umpteenth time. I know being vicious is the only way you can get what you want in life and in this case, to get to where you wanna go. But hello?! All that swerving around leaves more room for accidents, no? And more accidents means longer hold ups? Obviously, these peevish drivers did not think to consult their brains this morning. UGH!

Anyhow, this was also THE morning my boy sat for his PSLE English paper. Wonder how it went. Truth to be told, he wasn't that much of a bright spark but he was showing remarkable improvement during our last few lessons. I was beginning to enjoy teaching him. Alas, yesterday marked the end of our time together. That's also the end to extra income! :( Pfft. Well at least I still have another kid at hand. Better kid, minus his extreme introversion. Had had a hair-pulling-ly hard time trying to get him to read a passage out loud for me! Gosh. Hid grandmother's rather amusing though. Gave me two mangoes during my penultimate lesson and offered me a whole raw chicken yesterday. I know. Queer yet nice people I encounter eh. She was so disappointed when I said I couldn't take it since I wasn't heading home anytime soon after tuition. A pity! Hahaha, let's hope she passed it on to some lucky neighbour!

I'd love to lament about not being able to go the The Land of The Rising Sun but decided that I should just shut up and forget it. Plenty more chances in the future!

And I'd love to stuff myself silly with copious amounts of ice cream now. That's because the looming prospect of a crazily hectic job brings with it a large cloud of gloom and doom. I've been far too lackadaisical for my own good. Gahhh. Desperate need to consume sweet treats to pump up the blues. Could do with those delectable, delicious, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate fondants right about now.

I hate periods, period.

Ciao!
