the birthday celebrations started today, officially(:my dearest aunt cooked up a feast for me at gramma's! twas a feast fit for kings and queens. definitely one of the best dinners i've had this year(: and will be one birthday dinner i'll rmb for many years to come. oh, think about six years worth of birthdays away from home! :/had a total of three cakes this night alone. lychee martini from pine gardens, chocolate fudge brownie made by my lovely sister, and the boys who claim that they baked the chocolate blueberry/ cherry cake. all the cakes were yummy licking good! HAHA, xz literally force fed me the cake that they made with all their love and sincerity! well their claim's really dubious but i shall give them the benefit of the doubt(: THANK YOU, FOR THE CAKE MADE WITH LOVE! here's a sneak peek at the cakes :D

august is ending! :/ feels like it barely started. hurrr, oh wells. twas a wicked month anyhow(: what with stayovers, pamper-yourself days, barbeques, shopping trips, driving craze, cafe hopping, dancing nights away, teaching, catching up with oldies, exercising, drinking, not sleeping, laughing till tears roll down my cheeks et cetera. truly a month to behold!
i've attended three barbeques this month alone. ughh, all that carcinogenic food! but it was plenty of fun! sausages grilled by yours truly still top the charts too :D ask anyone! ahhha.
anyway, i swear that online shopping is addictive ttm. it's depleting my accounts, draining em like nobody's business! plus the tremendous amounts spent on food too. it's the new craze isn't it? going to atas cafes with chillax ambience and spending the longest hours enjoying the lazy afternoon with favourite friends. it's a pity that most cafes don't serve food with the "woahh" factor. most are just passable and some failing miserably. the finest food i had was prolly from hediard. really yummy grilled sandwiches, and prolly one of the best warm chocolate cake i've had in a long time. it had that "ooomph" to it. OH! chanced upon this dessert place that served very very delectable lavender ice cream. nette and i bought a tub each(: our eyes almost popped out upon tasting it! they had this unique version of root beer float called "the black cow" too. a concoction of their own made french vanilla ice cream with root beer ice shavings. nostalgic! place's called "taste matters", y'all should give it a shot if you pass by the place(cluny court)!
had a maniacal Wednesday with the besties :D had a picnic at Marina Barrage at the hottest hour possible. sadly, the grass was too muddy to our liking. fortunately, this security guard who took a liking to us three girls, found us a spot under the shade and on dry ground for our feast! we prolly prepared a feast fit for kings and queens! my favourite was the honey dijon chips(: chips craze! polaroid-whored to no end and ended up with weird tan, all thanks to our friendly mister sun :/ armed with car keys and killer heels, we drove to quaint places for more pictures, and food. i'm rather alarmed by the number of places we visited in a day AND the amount of food we consumed. seriously. popped pink bubbly late into the night. and had an insanely fab time laughing over rubbish and doing nonsense(: more food in the morning! had breakfast at two different places:/ think we really had abnormal metabolism rates for the past two days, or rather week. ended the day with some wacky polaroids, (jump shot ftw!) and and the nicest jap curry at curry favour.
oh yes. did plenty of tourist-ey thingys the past weeks too. tourism in singapore -.- what made it bearable was prolly atik's non-stop talking that was far more entertaining than merlions and sang nila utama. and i had a good laugh when he described kimchi as cabbage that was born in 1975. he totally hated the veg that i've come to like so much lately(:
got to know a new bunch of people on fri night at the third barbeque of the month. a really comforting way to spend the friday night. very engaging conversations. a tad sad at how much there is in this world and how little i know. ah wells. it's never too late to start learning more! dinner-ed twice ytd (can you believe me?!). once at gram's and another time at gardens with the clique. HAHAHA. we even mang guo bing-ed after that. pigout ttm man. lovely lifestyle though(:
learnt to be a domestic goddess and learnt the tough-est song ever in the whole of my music learning career tday too. figure i'll take at least three good months to master it. ahhhhhh! so many things and a limited lifespan to experience! ack. got another looney week ahead though. so i guess things are looking good(:
okie poks, the rigmarole ends here. enjoy the week ahead kids!

the world wide web seems to have gone nuts of late. rather annoying isn't it? everything from blogger to fb to hotmail and just about every possible site that i visit, just ain't working or loading well at all. ugh. i hate this dependency on technology.
crazy past week. and more crrrazeeeness to come(: sleep debt coming back up. friday confirmed my beliefs. i am so not cut out for being a teacher. i love listening to other people talk about their experiences. i hate talking. so just stop making me talk/ speak/ entertain! spare me all these agony please.
(okay blogger just ate up the entire bottom half of my post. i swear i hate screwed up technology.)
well i hope this part doesnt get eaten up again. i shall try to rmb what i typed before. uhmm, oh yea. i'm loving this new business trips thingy. the best part is cos i get to do all the tourist-ey stuff like shopping, sight-seeing and not actually have to care much for the biz part. a tad selfish, but yea! travelling for the win! (:
anyways, not in the mood to rmb much now. shall go do some reading and head for bed. night world.

Colin Hay - I just don't think I'll ever get over you
I drink good coffee every morning Comes from a place that’s far away And when I’m done I feel like talking
Without you here there is less to say
I don’t want you thinking I’m unhappy
What is closer to the truth That if I lived till I was 102
I just don’t think I’ll ever get over you I’m no longer moved to drink strong whiskey
‘Cause I shook the hand of time and I knew That if I lived till I could no longer climb my stairs
I just don’t think I’ll ever get over you
Your face it dances and it haunts me
Your laughter’s still ringing in my ears I still find pieces of your presence here Even after all these years But I don’t want you thinking I don’t get asked to dinner
‘Cause I’m here to say that I sometimes do Even though I may soon feel the touch of love I just don’t think I’ll ever get over you
If I lived till I was 102 I just don’t think I’ll ever get over you
sucha beautiful song. i wonder if there'll come this day when i can't get over someone till i was a hundred and two. that'd be awfully heart-wrenching. but tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all? i'd like to think so. alfred lord tennyson's got a new fan in me(:
not exactly enjoying this tonne of freedom :/ i guess i'm a very family kid afterall. how i'll hang in there in aussie land, idk. gotta start learning how to handle everything by myself soon! should bring a truckload of pictures over with me. HAHA! chanced upon some intriguing reads on the web. humans are such fascinating creatures. sometimes i wished i could see what goes on inside another's head. don't you? not trying to brag here, but i think the inside of mine would be rather gripping(: these thoughts spew off in all directions and amuse me all the time. you're free to pry but don't blame me if anything goes awry.

a conversation struck me today. if not satori, twas nevertheless a lightning bolt of sort. maybe more of an epiphany? guess they all pretty much mean the same thing. ayeee, idk. mind boggling stuff clouds up the pathway to coherent talk. won't try to uncloud it anyhow. the weather's prolly too hot to make much sense anyway. tonnes of people falling sick, the air's getting hazy and smelly. the level of annoyance is creeping up :/ had a copious amount of chips recently. craving wouldn't subside. HAHA! i love jagabee(: withdrew from school couple o days ago. there's this lingering melancholic mood to it :( they had to take my matric card away. ahwells. im gonna embark on relief teaching next week! a lil petrified albeit a mere two days. not a very good public speaker i must admit. dont like to talk in general. more so lately, just feel like keeping my thoughts to myself. i do hope i don't become socially inept if this habit is gonna stay for good :/ hmmm, the next week will be rather lonely i think. since the family's gonna be away for the long weekend. gotta find sth to do. uhhuh. nat day's in a few days time. doesnt feel like it though. the sound of fireworks don't even excite me anymore. jaded, perhaps. hokay, stopping the rants here. gotta go(:take care all the sick kids out there!love jia.

I've had pretty joyful moments the past few weeks(: Norway was a dash back into the past, kinda. did lil of sightseeing here and there, visited friends who were close like relatives, had several biz talks yada yada. twas summer, but a rather cold one i must say. unusually high amounts of rain and temp that never quite made past the twenty mark. enjoyed the only sunny day tremendously! did the most sightseeing that day too, so it was very fun indeed(: oh oh, i learnt just a teeny weeny bit of Norwegian. it's erm quite interesting but not a language that i'd learn. french still tops the charts!let's see. if someone asks you how you are in Norwegian, you'd say "bra" if you're good. HAHA! that's the easy way out. i cant really rmb the long one :/ i do rmb how to say happy birthday though! "gratulerer med dagen!" it's the only phrase i can rmb in full. a pity really. josefine, this really uber cute granddaughter of uncle larsen taught us what she knew. i wished i had a younger sister like her! she brings out the elder sister in me. HAHA! i can imagine myself protecting her and watching out for her, really. ahwells. it's nice being the youngest child though. i'm relishing every single second of it(:alas! some mishaps along the way too. on her maiden voyage on the trampoline, the dear sister landed on the wrong foot. big swell followed after and it's modeling after an elephant's leg now. pardon the mild exaggeration. my beloved cousin who was in shanghai for internship suffered a go kart crash as well and had to be flown back for a surgery. aunt fell down, broke her specs and suffered a deep gash at the side of her forehead. three's a charm eh? how dramatic can this family get!bbq straight after getting off the plane on sat was extremely entertaining. we had lots of leftovers, lots of nice chats, nice neighbours who gave us nice food and extra bbq pit, nice long walks to amk hub and a not so nice late night movie. good company makes up for it though(: think my driving skills improved alot after coming back from Norway(: HAHA i rock! hokay enough for now. i shall retire today and continue another day.
